The DataCal Arabic 101 keyboard
stickers includes Latin style numbers (see top row below) and Arabic style
numbers (second row below). You can choose which number set to install. Not all
applications support Arabic style numbers. If you are using Microsoft Word, you
must configure it for "Context" numbers (not Arabic numbers). Refer
to the Microsoft Word Help file or contact Microsoft Technical Support for
additional information.
Because Arabic uses right-to-left
text entry, some applications change the location of certain keys, such as the
parentheses, brackets, and braces. For example, some applications place the
left parentheses on the "9" key while others place it on the
"0" key.
The Arabic 101 sticker set includes
dual stickers to match different software applications. For example, you can
select the left parentheses to be on the "9" key or the "0"
key in either Arabic or Latin style numbers. The picture below shows the
duplicated stickers in yellow (the yellow is used just to show them in the
picture; the keyboard stickers are not printed in yellow).
You can see in the picture that
there are four possible selections for the "9" key:
-
The Latin style number (i.e.,
"9") with a left parentheses, ( on the top row
-
The Latin style number (i.e.,
"9") with a right parentheses, ) on the bottom row
-
The Arabic style number (i.e.,
"9") with a left parentheses, ( on the top row
-
The Arabic style number (i.e.,
"9") with a right parentheses, ) on the bottom row
You should check your software to
see which stickers match the way it types. When you know how your software
types, you can then select and install the correct sticker on the "9"
key.
